Electrical engineering, in particular communications technology, medical technology and mechanical engineering.
Jochen Peschel studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University, specializing in communications engineering. During his studies, he spent several months in the U.S. on a work placement with a mobile technology manufacturer. He graduated with a German Diplom in engineering in 2002 and went on to work for Vodafone D2 GmbH in Düsseldorf.
Mr. Peschel began work in the field of intellectual property rights in 2004. He became a German patent attorney and an accredited representative in trademark and design matters before the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, now the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in 2008. In the same year, he began working for our firm on a freelance basis. In 2009, he became an accredited representative before the European Patent Office.
Jochen Peschel became a partner of our firm in 2014 and advises domestic and non-domestic companies of many different sizes in respect of all types of industrial property rights, in particular in grant proceedings and legal validity proceedings (such as opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office and the German Patent and Trademark Office). He is also experienced in the realm of settling disputes out of court when industrial property rights have been infringed. When advising the clients in his charge, his focus is always in particular on maintaining a holistic approach to IP strategy.
